There are only a few joys in life. Trashy reality TV, doggos wearing people clothes, and the ability to sprinkle as much chicken salt on ya chippies as humanly possible.

However, this café has come along to stomp all over our hopes and dreams. They are CHARGING for chicken salt. The horror.

Some outraged Reddit user discovered a café in Forster, New South Wales where the owners have chicken salt listed on the menu, costing an extra 20 cents.

Here’s the photo taken at Beach Bums Café on the weekend:

This is some truly cooked shit. Chicken salt is a bloody human right in my opinion.

Beach Bums Café told news.com.au that the charge is not actually for customers. They reckon it only applies to folks that want chicken salt added to food they bought somewhere else.

Ummm. Is that even a thing that happens…on earth?! They continued:

“The charge that is displayed on our menu board is for customers who bring food into our venue purchased from our competitors and ask for us to put chicken salt on it for them”

Yeahhh sure. They continued:

“Chicken salt is around $22 (2kg box) for us to purchase compared to regular salt at $1.82 for the same volume.

“So for the average serve of Chicken Salt @ 20g the cost price is 22 cents. Considering that the customer hasn’t purchased from us in the first place I don’t find this an unreasonable charge.”

It’s all getting a little too political for my liking. The café has since confirmed that the extra charge has been removed from the menu.

VICTORY!!!!
