Yep, prep your stomachs – the Donug has been born and it’s going to be popping up around Melbourne sometime in July.

The idea first came to light on Shark Tank Australia, where Melbourne couple Crag and Rachel presented the concept to the panel. The food combo is apparently all savoury, with Crag saying the hybrid is “98% chicken that has our unique and top-secret spice mix”. The donug then has a panko crumb and has the option of three different sauces to accompany it.

But when can I get my hands on one of these bad boys?!

If you follow the team on Insta, you’ll see them popping up in various locations from time to time. While there are no stores yet, the couple said they are “working on it” and will be popping up at events from July onwards.

A Donug, quite simply is a hybrid of a Donut and a Chicken Nugget, but, in this case it is a completely savoury product made from chicken, our unique and top-secret flour and spice mix… and a crunchy panko and cornflake crust.
