When Jay-Z and Beyoncé were happily cruising around the Mediterranean in 2016, they probably didn’t envision that two years later their holiday snaps would turn into one of greatest memes of 2018.

But never doubt the internet’s ability to take something old and turn it into something new memeable. This time, it’s photos of Jay-Z grumpily riding a jet-ski in Italy that have captured the internet’s imagination.

While Beyoncé (of fucking course) looks flawless, Jay-Z couldn’t look more uncomfortable — sporting a questionable helmet and an expression that suggests he’d rather be anywhere else.

Naturally, the internet has gone bananas over the recently resurfaced images.

It’s actually not the first time Jay-Z has been the butt of a great meme. While on holiday in Italy in 2013 (there’s a pattern here) he was photographed weirdly leaping into the water off his and Bey’s luxury boat.

The internet subsequently lost their shit photoshopping poor Hov into a variety of stupid situations, like so:
