As her legal dispute with Sony and Dr. Luke continues, Kesha has suggested online that she’s been offered freedom from her recording contracts if she admits her sexually assault claims are a lie.

A judge ruled in February that the ‘Tik Tok‘ singer could not be released from her exclusive deal with Dr. Luke and Sony Music despite claiming she had been abused by the producer. In the latest twist,  she took to her Instagram to hint that the companies involved have offered her “freedom” in exchange for making a public apology about her claims and dismissing them as a lie.

She posted on Instagram:

so. I got offered my freedom IF i were to lie. I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS behind closed doors.”

But the 29-year-old star insisted she would rather that her career be over – rather than withdraw her allegations. She added to the post: “I will not take back the TRUTH. I would rather let the truth ruin my career than lie for a monster ever again.

Kesha’s mother, Rosemary Patricia ‘Pebe‘ Sebert, recently admitted her daughter is doing “much better” since the court ruling, and was relieved to have her situation made public so she could help others. Speaking to media, she said

“She wasn’t comfortable with having to do this, but I think she realised as this thing progressed that she can advocate for sexual abuse or other things. The fact that she is at peace with that has really been healing.”

Disappointingly, Kesha’s Instagram is a mix of positive support, alongside a bunch of downright fuckwits who continue to sling abuse her way.

We’ll be staying posted and watching how this pans out.
