Ahead of their upcoming album, ‘A Head Full of Dreams’, Coldplay have debuted a new song featuring none other than Queen Bey, Beyoncé.

The song, titled ‘Hymn for the Weekend‘ was first played on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show and was followed by an interview with the band’s bass player Guy Berryman. Beyoncé adds depth to the track, delivering harmonious backings throughout.

A Head Full of Dreams’ will be the British band’s sixth feature album. Their more recent albums ‘Mylo Xyloto’ and ‘Ghost Stories’ were met with backlash from fans due to their shift in direction towards mainstream pop and dance. By the sound of things, the band are heading further in to the mainstream realm, something which will probably gain them more fans money.

In the interview, Berryman discusses how lead singer Chris Martin originally intended to write a “party song” however it changed direction when Beyoncé got on board. She was apparently so professional that she was in and out within 5 minutes and Berryman missed out on being in the studio for her recording.
