TV Line reports that Taylor Lautner will join the upcoming season of Scream Queens, playing character Dr. Cassidy Cascade that suffers from a weird medical condition and becomes a suspect after multiple tragedies take place at the hospital.

Lautner confirmed the news and expressed his excitement for his new role in a post on his Facebook page earlier today:

The young actor will appear in the show alongside John Stamos, who was announced as a series regular last week, along with returning stars: Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Keke Palmer, Billie Lourd and Abigail Breslin.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lautner’s character will at some point become involved with Billie Lourd’s Chanel #3.

Most fans seem satisfied with the 24-year-old’s casting in the horror comedy, however there are a few who are not quite as supportive.

Prior to Scream Queens, Lautner has recently appeared in British television sitcom Cuckoo and not-so-successful films including Tracers, and The Ridiculous Six.

Season 2 of Scream Queens will premiere on Fox on 20 September, so stay tuned as we learn who else joins the gore-fest between now and then.
