SHOOK: Niall Horan Has More Twitter Followers Than Harry Styles For The First Time

This is not okay.

For the first time in the history of the sacred formation of One Direction back in 2010, Harry Styles is not the most popular band member. At least as far as Twitter is concerned.

Your boiii Niall Horan has overtaken Harry as the most-followed 1D star. Well, we didn’t see that coming.

At the time of writing this, Niall has just over 31 million followers while Harry still sits on 30.8 million followers. Sure, it’s still super close but die-hard Harry fans are feeling a bit fragile.

There are of course plenty of Niall stans out there that are thrilled that the often overlooked 1D member is getting his time to shine.

But let’s be real: Harry is the best. Sure, Niall’s post-1D music has been awesome – and admittedly ‘Slow Hands’ is a standout tune.

But come awnnnnnn, Harry’s debut album broke all kinds of records, even earning the biggest debut sales week for a UK male artist’s first album in the US. Harry’s first single ‘Sign of the Times’ received almost universal praise. It was a first single of epic proportions.

The only way to rationalise the follower takeover is that it might just come down to fans engaging with the pop stars on social media. Long-tressed angle a.k.a Harry is much more elusive of his socials and rarely posts anything, compared to Niall who is an open book and tweets constantly.

Realistically, Twitter followers don’t mean much and Harry is still 1D king. End of.

For your interest, among the other 1D members, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have over 25 million, while poor ol’ Zayn Malik has around 22 million. But don’t forget that Zayn is king of Instagram, with the largest following on platform. Huh? Yep.

In other words, social media following means nothing and these dreamboy eyes don’t lie…
