Sad news for Teen Wolf fans, with news emerging that season 6 will be the show’s last.

The show’s executive producer Jeff Davis made the announcement during the Teen Wolf panel at San Diego Comic Con earlier today, firing a silver bullet into fan’s hearts.

In a statement Davis said:

“We’re eternally grateful for the support we’ve received over these past six years and we’re excited to take our brave fans on one last, thrilling adventure.”

It’s not all bad news for fans though, as the first trailer for season 6 has been released. The trailer premiered during the panel and was uploaded to the Teen Wolf  Twitter account not long after.

In the trailer we see next season’s villains, the Ghost Riders from the Wild Hunt, arriving in Beacon Hills but also fan favourite Ian Bohen, who will be making his return as Peter Hale.

Fans have since taken to Twitter to express their mixed reactions to the news:

Current and past cast members are already starting to say goodbye to the show:

The final season will start to air in November and the 20th episode of the season will be the 100th and last episode of Teen Wolf.
