Those of us who live for watching trashy reality telly have grown up over the past 7 years with MTV’s Geordie Shore crew, even considering the housemates as part of our own fam.

Now the Geordies are back in their second home Australia, shacked up on the Gold Coast as their new series gets ready to premiere its 17th season.

It’s hard to believe that a show based on ‘getting mortal’, ‘tashing on’ and ‘bucking’ could have such a long lifespan. There have been some casualties along the way, with new additions filling the place of series faves like Vicky, Charlotte and Gary who have left for good.

What can we say, it’s a war zone out there.

We had the chance to catch up and chat with one of the series’ longest cast members Chloe Ferry while she was in Australia and were gifted with some v important knowledge.

Here are 8 things we learnt from Geordie Shore’s radgiest unit Chloe:

1. There’s heaps we don’t see when the gang is filming Geordie Shore.

“So, what people actually don’t see when we’re filming Geordie Shore, I think every 5 to 6th day we get a down day and night.

“After we’ve done filming green screen, we just chill, pamper, get our lashes done, watch TV. That’s what everyone in the cast looks forward to. Because on down nights we all sit down on the sofa, cuddle up, get food and watch films together.”

2. Despite all the drinking, Chloe doesn’t get hangovers.

“I don’t really get hangover as much. I think if I got a hangover, I’d sit in bed all day, put Netflix on, order loads of food, and you’ll be all sorted out.”

3. Drinking every single night in the Geordie Shore house is harder than it looks.

So a typical week in the Geordie Shore house is getting drunk all the time, being very tired, having a lot of fun, but honestly, it’s a lot harder than what it looks like. Going out drinking every night with no sleep is very hard.”

4. It takes the gang a while to recover every time they finish filming.

“About a week and a half [is how long it takes to recover]. When I finish filming, I just literally lie in bed for a full week and catch up on some sleep because honestly, your body is basically fucked after drinking for all those weeks.”

5. She reckons it’s unlikely Gaz will ever return after becoming a dad.

“I would like Gary to return because he was a massive part of the show. But I think now he’s got bigger priorities and they’re obviously a lot more important than Geordie Shore but I would like him to return.”

6. Excuse us?! She reckons Aussies can’t keep up with the Geordies partying ways.

“I don’t think that Aussies have kept up with the Geordies in the way they party. The first night with the two Aussies in the cast, they both passed out. So Geordies, let’s be honest, do it best.”

7. Her messiest night out involved a cat flap.

“The messiest night I have ever been on is when I was when I was 18/19 years old. I was with me friends and I was that drunk that I couldn’t get me in the door so I tried to get in through the cat flap.”

8. Chloe is moving to Australia one day. Huzzah!

“I would consider moving to Australia when I retire because it’s such a beautiful country, like it’s so hot. The weather is amazing. I love that one day, you’re out back and there could be like a kangaroo there.”

The new Geordie Shore season kicks off on MTV on 16 May.
