The Trailer For ‘The Grinch’ Remake Has Dropped And People Are Mad
So The Grinch is being remade, again, because apparently there are no original ideas or stories yet to be told!
Illumination Entertainment just dropped the trailer for its new, animated Grinch remake. While some people are excited for yet another Grinch – this time to be voiced by crowd fave Benedict Cumberbatch – a lot of people are pretty against it.
What’s actually more entertaining than the trailer is the impassioned reaction to it. The trailer is making some people upsetti-spaghetti.
It turns out there are a lot of Jim Carrey stans out there who think any kind of Grinch remake is blasphemy. We’ve talked about how Jim Carrey’s Grinch invented modern-day emo culture (which is a completely valid anthropological investigation btw). Could it be possible that he has also been instated into the pop-culture hall of fame as untouchable, un-remake-able royalty?
The new Grinch doesn’t seem to offer a fresh take and besides the hella cute doggo, there’s not a whole lot endearing us to the trailer. But check it out below and decide for yourself.

Who knew people were so invested in the 2000 live action remake of The Grinch starring Jim Carrey! The level of backlash is wild imo but we are HERE FOR IT.
These disgruntled fans seem to think so and their intensity is truly admirable.
