There’s no limit to what the people of YouTube can do with a Swift song.

Every time TayTay releases a new song the covers start pouring in. When you hear Taylor Swift do you think heavy metal rock? Yea neither, but to each their own. There’s always gonna be a few people pushing the boundaries of ‘reinvention’.

Love her or hate her, the charting success and global popularity of any Taylor Swift song is an inevitability. She’s too famous to fail at this point tbh.

So since T.Swift dropped the second track off her upcoming album Reputation earlier this month, covers of  ‘…Ready for it?’ have been popping up all over YouTube. And let me tell you there is some wacky content out there.

Looks like everyone has their own idea of what ‘The New Taylor’ song could sound like and we’ve rounded up the best and wildest results. Plz enjoy.

This heavy metal cover…I was not ‘Ready for it’.

This takes the cake as the most entertaining version of the Swift track. 10/10 for the screamo flourishes. Go to 2:29 for absolute gold.

‘…Ready for it?’ à la guitar just ain’t working.

Note: white girls monotonously rapping doesn’t make for great guitar ballads.

Strong ‘Swish Swish’ vibes from this one.

Pop group Cimorelli turned the tune into a team sport while channeling Katy Perry’s ‘Swish Swish’ video. Not sure if intentional but it’s a hella ironic fusion.

Even Barbie is getting around it!

Not really sure wtf is going on here honestly but what a time to be alive hey.

‘…Ready for it?’ transforms pretty seamlessly into a rock song.

Look the song’s still subpar but rock n’ roll bby.

Aaaaaand throwback to the 1600s with this harpsichord cover.

Now THIS is a banger alright.

FYI a harpsichord is an oldschool piano type instrument from the Baroque era. See below:

This ukulele cover is actually…really sweet.

This gal’s cute uke cover strips away the ‘New Taylor’ grime that Swift is so intent to get in our faces. Bring back the old Taylor!
