As we approach the much-hyped ‘merger’ on Australian Survivor, we chatted with all the contestants that have been booted from the series so far, and hoeeee boy did they spill some piping hot tea.

This season has been all about the battle of the professionals against the normies, and so far (surprise, bitch!) The Champions have dominated the competition hard.

We asked the eliminated contestants which team is better, who will win and the snakes to watch out for.

Which team is better?

There’s one team that has totally slayed almost every challenge this season, so it’s no surprise most of the eliminated reckon The Champions have this shit in the bag.

“Definitely The Champions and that’s not being biased,” said Moana.

“They all come from team sports and they all know how to work together and get stuff done. And they’re not disrespectful about it. You know, I’ve been watching it back and they’re not as disrespectful as The Contenders.”

All tea, all shade. Paige agrees that the champs reign supreme in the challenges.

“The challenges have been so physical this year and when it comes down to that The Champions are better than us every time. They’ve got not only Olympians but people that spend years and years training, both physically and mentally.”

They say a picture can tell a thousand words 😫😆 #SurvivorAU

Steve adds “They are more mature and slowly but surely getting it right. It’s not that The Champs are getting better but we [The Contenders] are about to disintegrate.”

However, Anita is backing her team.

“The Champions are a force to be reckoned with but we definitely have the heart,” she told us.

Jenna added, “Physically, I would have to say that The Champion team is a lot stronger. But mentally and emotionally, I would have to say The Contenders have more potential to go further in the game.”

Who is a low-key snake?

“The biggest snake of them all has to be Benji,” Paige told us.

“He is playing hard and that’s been very clear from the start. He doesn’t care who is in his way. He’s there to win and good on him.”

Anita echoed Paige’s comments, saying “Benji is a bit cheeky but he’s fabulous. You know we’re getting to that point in the game and some people would throw their nanna under the bus.”

Over on The Champ’s team, Damien was not holding back on his views about one tribe member.

“Jackie turned into Russell after episode one, he had a virus and she caught it,” he told us.

Moana echoed Damien’s sentiments. “I knew Jackie was playing the game pretty hard,” before adding “and you could tell that Zach didn’t know how to play the game at all.”

Amen.

Who will win?

The eliminated had a handful of faves to win, and the number one pick has to be Mat Rogers.

“If I have to pick a favourite of who I hope will win it’s got to be Mat Rogers, who is probably one of the greatest athletes I’ve ever met,” Moana told us.

These two ❤ #SurvivorAU

Anita is also on the Mat train.

“Matty Rogers takes his tribe into challenges and coaches them and helps them through and it’s commendable,” Anita told us. “Matty Rogers is a true gentleman.”

While Damien sided with his island bestie Commando Steve. “I’d like to see Steve win it. We have that bond, we’ve been through the same challenges, the same troubles and triumphs. I’d also like to see Mat go all the way.”

From The Contenders fam, most had their money on Tegan.

“She is in with the bromance and I think Tegan is a very smart girl and she has the social game to manoeuvre herself throughout different alliances. She will be able to adjust. I think she’s physically strong too,” said first eliminated tribal member Matt.

An emotional victory for Tegan sees her stay in the game 💪 #SurvivorAU

Paige also threw Heath’s name into the mix.

“Out of The Contenders, both Heath and Tegan have a strong chance. They’re really strong players. They’re playing a clever game.”

While Zach reckons the ladies have it in the bag.

“Lydia is an absolute beast and everyone seems to like her so I can see Lydia going a long way. On The Contenders, probably one of the girls, Shonee or Fenella.”
