Here’s what you need to know about the #HoldaCokeWithYourBoobsChallenge
Last year the ice bucket challenge saw much needed funds raised for MND (ALS) research, with over $100 million believed to have been pooled from around the globe. Off the back of this many organisations and charities have tried to create their own viral social media campaign with varying levels of success.
Enter the #holdacokebetweenyourboobschallenge.
The hashtag was started by an adult entertainment scouting company called Elite Talent Referral as a way of making fun of a lot of other similar campaigns. But once it started to gain some traction, a few people mentioned the possibility of using the hashtag to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research and they got right behind it.
It might not be the most conventional or practical way to raise awareness, with many critics labelling the #HoldaCokeWithYourBoobsChallenge as the peak of ‘slaktivism’. But hey, greater awareness and help is better than no help right?
If you’d like to donate to breast cancer research but don’t want to get your gear off, you can head to Australian Breast Cancer Research here. If you’re keen to take a part, we seriously recommend starting there.
