Everyone Is Making The Same Joke About That ‘House Of The Dragon’ Episode

House of the Dragon has dropped another belter of an episode this week, with a bloody royal wedding to almost rival Game of Thrones’ red wedding.

The heir to the iron throne, Rhaenyra, agreed to marry Laenor in an effort for King Viserys to unite the Targaryen and Velaryon houses. The move was also likely an attempt for Viserys to steer his daughter away from his brother, Daemon, as the two (yep, literal uncle/niece) were spotted getting sexual at a brothel on last week’s episode, before Daemon told his brother he planned to marry Rhaenyra.

Classic family drama!

But back to this week’s episode, we learned that Laenor was gay which is something Rhaenyra not only accepted, but she was keen for as it allowed her to have the chance to keep Ser Criston Cole as her side dick, as ICYMI, the two had sex last episode.

Rhaenyra informed Ser Criston that she planned to continue dating him while married to Laenor, which ruined his plan to restore his honour by fleeing with Rhaenyra and getting married.

Rhaenyra swiftly rejected Criston’s proposal before heading to her wedding to marry her gay fiancé, who also had a boyfriend on the side, Ser Joffrey Lonmouth.

The princess has been truly feeling her oats lately and we stan a queer ally!

House of the Dragon fans are all making the same joke about Rhaenyra and Laenor’s arrangement.

Unfortunately, Rhaenyra and Laenor’s wedding didn’t run as smoothly as expected, as Criston decided to chuck a tantrum and murder Joffrey after he umm… look, I’m not entirely sure why Criston killed him.

My best guess is that Criston was enraged over Rhaenyra treating him like ‘her whore’, which I guess is something undignified for a knight to be. Joffrey had joked with Criston that they would have to keep each other’s affairs a guarded secret, so in turn, he ended up getting the brunt of Criston’s rage aka him smashing Joffrey’s face in.

Either way, it was a truly cooked thing for Criston to do to an innocent man. Boy, bye.

Criston had an especially cringe episode. After his proposal was rejected by Rhaenyra — who pointed out she’d rather be Queen of Westeros rather than just his wife — he then spilled to the current Queen that he and Rhaenyra had been intimate. This led Alicent to realise her former bestie had lied to her, suggesting she probably lied about getting intimate with her uncle, Daemon, too.

Why did he say any of that?? Ser Cole is OVER. Thank you next, bitch.

The episode ended with a disgraced Criston almost stabbing himself in the stomach, but Alicent arrived just in time to (hopefully) save him. Meanwhile, Rhaenyra and Laenor got married and Viserys appeared to collapse, which was unsurprising as his health had been radically declining all season.

Spare a thought for Viserys, who is trying to live a simple life while his daughter flirts with her uncle, marries her cousin, while trying to dump the guard she hooked up who just murdered her husband’s boyfriend.

A new House of the Dragon episode drops every Monday on Binge.
