KJ Apa Reckons Archie’s A Bad Musician With Shitty Taste In Music
One thing that has brought us endless joy from watching Riverdale is making fun of its leading man Archie.
While loveable enough, Archiekins is just a bit of a dope and his attempts at songwriting for Josie and the Pussycats have been notably terrible. While his own performances are autotuned to death.
Here’s a taste of the tunes Archie is cranking out on Riverdale:
It’s interesting to learn that the actor himself, KJ Apa is a musician. But he said in an interview with Teen Vogue that Archie is supposed to be bad at singing and songwriting, as he’s only just starting out. He told the mag
“I don’t know how to say it, but we’re not at the same level, you know what I mean?”
“Somehow I have to say that in not a cocky way, but he’s a beginner. Also, the songs that he writes, I don’t think I would listen to them. I do not have the same taste in music as him.”
Ouch. That’s some salty words about his own character right there. He also said he found having to sing in the series to be challenging.
“Singing is really uncomfortable for me,” he said. “It was definitely dipping out of my comfort zone.”
Apa went on to say his musical stylings are much different to Archie’s. “I’m into harder stuff than Archie is.”
Err… maybe Archie should just stick to his day job and leave the performing to the Pussycats?
