Some of us watch movies to feel better but others (like me) often become attracted to tearjerkers when they just want to have a good cry. But what are some of the saddest movie scenes in the history of cinema?

Twitter is offering a few suggestions after Twitter user @guiltyart asked their followers about the “most upsetting scenes” that they’ve ever seen.

The responses include some of our faves like The Notebook and A Walk To Remember, along with some movie moments I haven’t thought about in a decade. Thank you for the nightmares.

This has got me all in my feelings.

Here are some of the saddest movie scenes in the history of film:

Scenes in A Star is Born, La La Land, The Fault in Our Stars and The Breakfast Club all stood out.

Every scene in The Dead Poets Society pretty much wrecked everyone.

How DARE My Girl do this to us.

The Lion King and The Land Before Time, traumatising children around the globe since the ’90s.

These scenes in Beautiful Boy, Brokeback Mountain, The Green Mile, and Call Me By Your Name are all-time tearjerkers.

Emma Thompson deserved so much better in Love Actually.

Hadn’t Tom Hanks already been through ENOUGH in Cast Away?!

These are some of the most harrowing scenes in the history of cinema.

A Walk To Remember owes a lot of money to my psychologist.

Another romantic drama that left us all shook is, of course, The Notebook.

These pivotal scenes in Avengers: Endgame, My Sister’s Keeper and The Fox and The Hound left us all broken inside.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!

Don’t even get us started on Harry Potter.

After reliving all these emotional moments I really need a minute.
