I’m Living For The Feud Between Abbie Chatfield And A Dog Instagram Account

I never thought I’d see the day when a pet influencer account trolled Abbie Chatfield, but here we are.

Let’s rewind for a sec: Abbie overheard some nasty comments about her outfit when she was out to dinner with her mates, so she called out the commenters via an Instagram video. I love this attitude as it’s 2023 and we sharn’t be policing what people are wearing – particularly when their only crime was looking hot.

Abbie noticed that a Petfluencer account left an interesting comment on her Instagram post. The account in question is @peggyandmolly, a fan page for Peggy the staffy, her daughter Ruby and Molly the Magpie. They’re kind of a big deal, with over 433,000 followers (including Sophie Monk and Rob Mills) and have a book being published by Penguin later this year.

“Yep, look up ‘Attention Wh*re’ and you’ll see a pic of Abbie Chatfield,” Peggy and Molly wrote on Abbie’s post. I’m 99% sure that the person writing the comment meant to do it from their finsta or burner account, because surely two angel pups and a magpie aren’t scrolling social media to see what Abbie is up to.

Abbie couldn’t get over how insane this whole situation was and it’s actually low-key hilarious.

“Don’t put those words in your beautiful staffy’s mouths. Peggy and Molly don’t deserve this! Just because you’re a disgusting loser, doesn’t mean your dogs are. God the poor things,” she joked on her Instagram Story.

She also pointed out that sponsors of Peggy and Molly might be unhappy with the account’s cruel comment, seeing as they promote a platform of being “kind and humble”. Eek.

Peggy and Molly face backlash on Instagram.

The Peggy and Molly account has been hit with comments from disgruntled fans, with one saying they were “disappointed” by their behaviour.

“Your misogynistic comment on Abbie Chatfield’s post is so incredibly disappointing. Try to remember to change accounts next time you want to troll people,” another wrote.

“Devvo that you trolled someone. Definitely not ‘kind’. I saw a man walking around topless the other day. Can you imagine! TOPLESS. I found it a bit tasteless TBH but I didn’t tell him off or tell him he’s a whore. He may be a virgin for all I know!” a third added.

“I was a big fan of these people and actually donated money to them… only to see them trolling Abbie for no reason,” another wrote.

Peggy and Molly’s owner responds to the Abbie Chatfield drama.

After Peggy and Molly started receiving comments on Instagram about the whole situation, their owner Reece Mortensen replied, claiming that the pet account had been compromised.

“This is not us. Please do some research before commenting,” he wrote. “We have been hacked.” Now, I’m not saying that Peggy and Molly’s account wasn’t hacked… but the timing is suspiciously convenient

“People are saying in my comments being like Peggy and Molly were hacked! Why are you believing that?” Abbie laughed. “Why would anyone hack someone and the only thing they do is comment, they reply to a comment… why the fuck would that be the only thing a hacker does?”

“They’re obviously trying to cover their tracks, also if they were hacked they would DM me apologising but they haven’t been hacked, they’re pieces of shit.”

Dog owners start a “sexy tops for Abbie” trend.

Dog owners have now started dressing their pups in “sexy tops” for Abbie to stand in solidarity with the podcaster, which is by far the best thing to come out of this whole mess. “What is going on? Unsure. But I’m thrilled tbh,” she declared.

When I started on this journey, I didn’t expect to end up scrolling through photos of dogs wearing sexy tops, but I’m not mad about it. I’m all for anything that gets more cute pups on my screen.
