We might be only three weeks into 2021, but there’s already a clear contender for best TV show of the year and that’s Netflix’s new reality series Bling Empire.

The reality show offers a glimpse into the lives of super rich Asian-Americans living in Los Angeles. The series is like if Crazy Rich Asians was set where Selling Sunset is filmed, and its quirky mix characters are truly enthralling to watch.

Firstly, there’s our hero: Anna. She is insanely rich, her father is an arms dealer, while her mother is an aristocrat — so she is what some people refer to as old money. While for a long time she was the queen of LA’s social scene, Anna has competition for the crown in Christine: the series’ villain. Christine is a name-dropping, new money, plastic surgeons’s wife, but she’s a multi-faceted villain with a rather tragic backstory, so you kind of end up rooting for her.

Rounding out the rest of the cast is Kevin, Kane, Kelly, Kim, Guy and Jamie, who are a bunch of young and hot twenty-somethings that don’t appear to ever work, they just go shopping and party. Honestly, goals.

Don’t get it twisted, this show is going to be a phenomenon — and the tweets are perfection.
