The Funniest Memes About Facebook’s Chaotic Arvo Meltdown
If you were browsing Facebook at around 4pm yesterday, you would’ve seen and experienced the online chaos that left users baffled.
To give you the TL;DR on what happened: Facebook users were basically haunted by pages that they liked years ago. Random posts made on these pages were then pushed on newsfeeds, replacing any posts made by friends or family.
The whole thing was a hot mess, and it led to a lot of unhinged and cursed posts. Some even took the opportunity to boost their personal Instagrams, their PayPal, and even their businesses by posting on random pages.
We also made a quick TikTok if you want a recap of the chaos unravelling in real-time:
@itspunkee FACEBOOK WAKE UP, I DON’T LIKE THIS. #facebook #markzuckerberg #helppls #fyp ♬ Lobby Music (Original Soundtrack) – Kahoot!
Thankfully, it seems the glitch has since been resolved. Technology Communications Manager of Meta, Alexandru Voica, apologised on Twitter, posting that the error was caused by a “configuration change”.
Earlier today, a configuration change caused some people to have trouble with their Facebook Feed. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
