The Johnny Depp puppy smuggling saga is set to begin a new chapter. Depp’s wife, Amber Heard has been ordered to stand trial for allegedly sneaking their family’s pet dogs into Australia earlier this year.

A four-day trial has been booked in at the Southport Magistrates Court on April 18. This comes eleven months after the couple were caught red-handed bringing their dogs, Pistol & Boo to Australia on their private jet without declaring them.

Drawing significant media fanfare, the story really peaked when Senator Barnaby Joyce fired shots at the celebrity couple, saying the dogs would be terminated if they didn’t “bugger off back to the United States.”

Depp (German for douchebag), then accused Barnaby Joyce of being a fame-hungry tool, when he was in fact just stating the law and how exceptions couldn’t be made for Depp, even though he’s been voted the sexiest man alive…twice.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star Depp’s wife is now facing two counts of breaching Australia’s quarantine laws. It’s unclear if Depp will be joining her at the trial.
