From the creative minds behind Married at First Sight comes a new reality show, Love Triangle, which is arriving soon on Stan.

The Stan original dating series will premiere on 6 October with new episodes dropping weekly. The eight-part reality show will host a group of singles as they meet and get to know potential matches without actually seeing them. They will be able to text and call each other but won’t see them irl until they make their decision to commit to a blind date.

The kicker is that viewers also won’t get to see what they look like either, so it’s like we will be vicariously blind dating along with the contestants. I am intrigued! We can expect some awkward moments when the matches come face-to-face and are not super enthused by what they see. The purpose of the show is to test whether contestants can overcome a lack of attraction, instead focusing on finding a genuine connection.

After the blind dates, the newly formed couples move in together, so prepare for petty arguments over who should take the bins out, whether a top sheet is non-negotiable (it is!), and what they should watch on TV. The series also promises a “mind-blowing twist” that apparently “will rock the couples to their core” and we are here for it.

This show is in very good hands with Married At First Sight’s Tara McWilliams and John Walsh as the guiding force, alongside MasterChef/Australian Survivor executive producer Keely Sonntag.

Stan’s chief content officer, Cailah Scobie, is hyped for the new series. “Love Triangle represents a thrilling new step for Stan as we continue to ramp up our Stan Originals output, leveraging the proven pedigree of the 9Network and the extraordinary makers of Married at First Sight to deliver a sensational new dating format,” she said.

“This is going to be an unmissable reality television event.”

Endemol Shine Australia’s chief executive officer, Peter Newman, also added, “We are incredibly proud to produce the addictive new relationship series, Love Triangle, for Stan. Tackling the difficulties of modern dating, the series features incredible characters on the journey to find long lasting love but with a mind-blowing mid-season twist,” he said, also dropping a little teaser “All we can say is, remember that a triangle has three sides!”

This truly sounds like Married at First Sight turbo-charged, and we expect plenty of romance and drama.

The first two episodes of the Stan’s Love Triangle will premiere on 6 October.
