If like me, you spent the weekend scared out of your brains watching Netflix’s newest original series Stranger Things, then you’re completely hooked and still grieving the show’s final ep.

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENS NEXT?!

The already wildly successful show boasts the anticipated career-comeback of Winona Ryder – who is amazing in this spooky tale – and takes place in the town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s, chronicling the search for a young boy who disappears under suspicious circumstances.

It’s so damn good. If you haven’t watched it yet, get ready to retreat into hibernation and break out the snacks!

The series shows clear nods to the cult classics of the 80’s, and uncovers mysteries involving top-secret government experiments and supernatural forces.

It’s the feeling of nostalgia that really drives the scare-factor in this, almost feeling like it has both Stephen King and Steven Spielberg genre influences combined. It’s pretty much E.T meets The Goonies, with a sprinkle of Stand By Me.

The show was created by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer – who also made the far inferior Wayward Pines. Although Netflix have not officially picked it up for another season, due to its success we know it’s just a matter of time, and the Duffer brothers have already spoken of their plans for season two.

(SPOILERS AHEAD)

“We wanted to do a couple things with this [first] season. We didn’t want to do The Killing thing. We wanted it to resolve that main thing of Will going missing in the first season. So in that sense, it is like an eight-hour movie. Now, we don’t answer all the questions by the end of the season — there are definitely some dangling threads.

“The hope is that it feels satisfying but that we left room and that if people respond to it we can go back into this world. But if we do get to go back, it’s not a second season as much as a sequel.”

Sequel or second season, we will take anything!
