Radiohead are reportedly planning to drop their ninth studio collection in two months’ time with their manager smashing too many pints and telling patrons in a London bar that it’ll be here for June. The rock band consisting of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Phil Selway and Ed O’Brien are known for experimenting with new sounds but the manager claims this album is like “nothing you’ve ever heard.”

Brian Message was speaking at a Q&A event at The Wanstead Tap bar in London last night and apparently after a few drinks he accidentally revealed details. A tweet was shared form the venue’s page boasting the announcement which is now deleted. It said,

From the horses mouth “the new Radiohead album out in June will be like nothing like you’ve ever heard.”

While the message from that account has been deleted, it didn’t stop others in attendance from spreading the news.

Reached for comment by Consequence Of Sound, a representative for Radiohead responded saying,

At an industry event in London last night Brian Message was asked about new Radiohead music. Quotes attributed to him and taken from his talk have subsequently appeared, describing him as Radiohead’s manager.

Brian Message is not Radiohead’s manager – he is a partner in Courtyard Management but plays no operational role, and therefore any quotes from last night’s event, or any supposition arising from them, should not be attributed to Radiohead’s management or be seen as official quotes on behalf of the group. Radiohead are managed by Chris Hufford and Bryce Edge at Courtyard Management.”

The planned release date may come as a shock to fans as visual artist Stanley Donwood – who has worked on all the artwork for the group’s LPs since 1995’s ‘The Bends’ – claimed recently that the album is nowhere near ready. Asked if he’s listened to the new tracks and when fans can expect the record, Brian Message told those in attendance: “I have. Is it done? Not yet.” So if it will ACTUALLY be ready by June, nobody really knows, but it is coming.

Meanwhile, ahead of their recently-announced tour, the bandmates established a holding company called Dawn Chorus LLP in October 2015, and a new business named Dawnnchoruss Ltd has now been registered. In July 2007, they founded Xurbia Xendless Ltd in advance of ‘In Rainbows’ – released in October that year – while in December 2010 they formed Ticker Tape Ltd ahead of ‘The King of Limbs’ release in February 2011.

We’ll be keeping our ear to the ground more news and announcements – but while we wait…
