We Shit You Not, Riverdale Is Actually Doing A Musical Episode & Yes Pls
Just in case you needed an extra reason to tune into our fave teen drama-fest Riverdale, they’ve gone and made a musical episode. We ain’t even shitting you.
The series already has plenty of music running through its eps, with Josie and The Pussycats serving up some killer performances and Archie also… err doing his best. But now the show is dedicating an entire episode to music, with Betty’s bestie Kevin directing a high school production of Carrie: The Musical.
Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has some experience with the horror, as he wrote the 2013 Carrie remake. Series star Casey Cott even let slip the actual cast list:
Cheryl will play the lead role in the Riverdale High musical, while Archie and Veronica will play Sue and Tommy. Riverdale’s resident emo Jughead even scored a part as The Beak.
The whole ep will include a total of 11 songs. Let’s pray this is the kind of musical ep that doesn’t bite the dust like many before them. Not many series can pull off the heights reached by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, let’s pray it’s not the Grey’s Anatomy musical all over. *Full body cringe*
The episode will air on 18 April this year.
It could be a spectacular disaster. Be afraid, be very afraid.
