A Savage AF Taylor Swift Graffiti Mural Has Emerged In Melbourne Memorialising Her Death

It’s been a bad week for Taylor Swift who is currently nesting it up north on the Gold Coast with BAE Tom Hiddleston. Following on from the Twitter backlash over Kim Kardashian‘s Snapchat and the consensus that Swift is suffering a dramatic fall from grace (more of our thoughts on this here), an artist in Melbourne’s iconic Hosier Lane has taken it a step further.

This morning a giant mural commemorating Swift’s death appeared on the iconic strip. It’s believed to be the work of Lushsux, the local graffiti icon and social commentator who brought us the giant Kim Kardashian nude IG mural in Richmond.

We reached out to Lushsux who didn’t want to ‘officially’ own up to the work (jokingly citing a potential defamation lawsuit), but said the inspiration was simply “taking the piss, business as usual”.

When asked how long it took to complete, he said:

About as long as it too Kim and Kayne to wreck Taylor in a few snapchats. Did it overnight while homeless graffiti writers whinged about how it was “streat art shit”.

A photo of the mural was posted to Lushsux’s Instagram a few hours ago, calling for people to “leave some flowers and light some candles at her memorial“. The artwork also contains the phrase “NO TAGS – PLEASE RESPECT THE DEAD“. The artist has also used twitter to spread the word.

It does appear that Swift’s name has been changed in the work to ‘Taylor Smith‘. Lushsux explains the renaming as “it just came out a bit chunky, I didn’t go to art school give me a break” – but we suspect there may have been legal motives.
