Can we stop constantly comparing female musicians, whose shared attribute is simply having a vagina, already? Apparently not, as Lady Gaga appeared on Zane Lowe’s DJ’s Beats 1 radio show overnight, and was once again compared to Madonna – for the 800th time.

But this time Gaga was having NONE OF IT.

While attempting to promote her fifth album, ‘Joanne’, she was then presented with this nugget:

“There is another artist who has lived a very parallel existence,” Lowe said.

“Based on this story, which I’m sure you can relate to. You know Madonna tells a very similar story… overprotective father… ‘Papa Don’t Preach.’ You know what I mean.”

Huh?! No, not really.

Gaga who was clearly irritated by such a superficial question, calmly responded at first by saying “Madonna and I are very different,” she clapped back.

“But I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours and hours a day in the studio. I’m a producer. I’m a writer. What I do is different.”
