Credit where credit’s due. Following their Rugby World-Cup success, the All Blacks arrived back in New Zealand on Tuesday to some triumphant fanfare from Auckland airport staff.

Waiting for them on the tarmac was over a dozen high-viz donned staff who burst in to a rendition of the iconic Maori war dance ‘The Haka’ as the team pulled in.

According to Sky News, Inside the airport 4,000 black-clad fans, some of whom had camped out overnight, packed the arrivals hall to greet them.

Captain Richie McCaw spoke of the experience to say,

“The support’s been amazing, so to bring this back is pretty awesome.”

Dan Carter, having just nabbed the prestigious ‘player of the year’ title called the reception a “dream-homecoming”.
