5 Women Who Could Play James Bond As ‘Jane Bond’
Daniel Craig has allegedly turned down a £68 million offer to continue his Bond legacy. But with Craig now officially out of the picture, who’s left to fill the iconic shoes once worn by Bronson, Moore and Connery? The world and the internet has almost unanimously decided that it must be between Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba.
Whilst both candidates would make a fine Bond, over the course of nearly 60 years, 007 has been played by a white, brunette male. In fact, when the blonde Daniel Craig was first cast as Bond, breaking the trend, he was notoriously dubbed “James Blonde.” That was of course until Casino Royal dropped, and then no one would dare question Craig’s ability as 007. Elba would also break the trend debuting as the first black Bond.
Young boys all around the world have been looking up to 007 for many decades now, but is it time that young girls see a role-model who is sexually liberated, witty, strong, assertive and a total bad-ass? Is it time that the franchise releases a female Bond?
There’s a conspiracy theory floating around the internet which states that the name “James Bond” is not one person, but rather, a civilian codename for 007. If we take this to be true, then there is no reason why 007 cannot be Jane Bond.
So, who’s the best candidate for Jane Bond? Here’s a top 5 in no particular order:
- Gal Gadot
- Carrie-Anne Moss
- Cote de Pablo
- Lucy Liu
- Uma Thurman
