Just recently, Justin cancelled the remaining shows of his ‘Purpose tour’, releasing the following statement:
“Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He is grateful and honoured to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across six continents during this run.
“However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.”
People have been very quick to give Bieber flack for the cancellation of his tour but it’s important empathise with the challenges of such a lengthy tour and the pressures of being under constant scrutiny.
John Mayer tweeted in response to Justin’s cancelled tour announcement with an important reminder about mental health:
When someone pulls remaining dates of a tour, it means they would have done real damage to themselves if they kept going. 1/2
