A man in his 20’s has died in the Brisbane CBD around 2pm today, after he was tragically shot dead during the filming of Bliss ‘n’ Eso‘s new video clip for “Friend Like You”.

The music video was being filmed at the underground bar Brooklyn Standard on Eagle Lane with reports that the man was participating in a scene involving several guns. Management for the hip-hop group said that they were not on set when the incident occurred.

Police have confirmed that the man killed was an actor and not a member of the band, with Detective Inspector Tom Armitt confirming that he was aged in his 20’s. Police also said no one else was injured, while another young man was taken away from the scene by police.

Detective Inspector Armitt said,

“A scene was being conducted during which the actors were using firearms”

“As a result of the use of those firearms one of the actors received wounds to the chest and subsequently died from the injuries.”

“A number of firearms were being used during the scene, I can’t (say) whether they were live or real firearms or the type of ammunition being used.”

Bliss ‘n’ Eso had been campaigning to find fans to help feature in the film clip for the track. Among the acting roles advertised were for an Asian male aged 11-16, a white male drug dealer aged in his 30s, a homeless man and a white male businessman aged late 30s.

The band are yet to make a comment about the incident – we’ll bring you updates when they do.
