Honey Badger Says His Time On Bachy Was The ‘Lowest’ Experience Of His Life
Nick Cummins appeared on The Project last night to share his side of The Bachelor drama, following the outrage over his controversial choice not to pick either Brittany or Sophie in the show’s finale.
The Honey Badger appeared pretty distraught over his time on The Bachelor and his public crucifixion in light of being the first Bachy to not choose a winner.
“I saw that finale and I knew there was going to be a bumpy road — for the girls especially first of all — then for the ones sitting at home on the couch waiting for that fairytale ending they didn’t get,” he said.
“Definitely coming back from Kokoda was a bit of a surprise, I wasn’t ready for all the tabloids and that sort of carry-on,” he said. “I consider myself a pretty upbeat, energetic dude and all of a sudden you get the wind cut out of your sails.”
I'm not comfortable when shows like #thebachelorau hit a point where they actually break people in the aftermath. That's not entertainment #theprojecttv

He went on to say he expected the public to be more understanding.
“I thought there would be more understanding than there was. It’s been sensationalised and really exaggerated. But I understand people are really invested in something like this, maybe there’s some sort of emotion they want to get out of it.”

Fresh from his trip doing the Kokoda trail, which he confirmed was booked long before Bachy, Nick admitted that the entire experience has wreaked havoc on his mental state.
“I’ve never been in a mental space as low as I have been on that show, especially towards the end of it,” he said.
“I’ve had injuries, I’ve been in a wheelchair, all that stuff doesn’t compare to what you actually have to go through on something like that.”
Gosh the difference in Nick Cummins’ demeanour between this interview and last week’s is startling. He clearly extremely rattled. We’ve never seen him speak so much, and without any ocker expressions. #TheProjectTV

He ended with a final message to the two Bachy girls:
“In closing, Brittany and Sophie, you know I care for you a lot and I’ve said this so many times throughout the show and you saw that I meant it. This media stuff sometimes, some of these tabloids can get in the way and it’s annoying to think that a natural progression of our friendship has been squashed because of this.
“Either way, I’m here if you need to call me to get questions answered or to get anything off your chest. And, any young blokes out there – stand for something or fall for anything, follow your heart.”
Following the interview, Nick shared a short video on his Instagram.
It might be time to move on, hey fam!
Luckily we have a new Bachy to obsess over, and considering the promos, the heartbreak is going to keep on coming.
