Australia Has Mixed Feelings Over Nick’s Controversial Bachy Decision
ICYMI, last night in an Australian first The Bachelor finished without debuting a new couple. Instead, the Honey Badger chose no one and the final two were left to lick their wounds.
It was bad enough that our Bachy didn’t pick a winner, but the general vibe we got from the finale was that he wasn’t even ready to settle down in the first place. This had people questioning why TF he was even on the damn show?
I mean I don’t know if anything’s changed since my time but it was certainly a requirement two years ago that the Bachelor or Bachelorette be ready to find someone to settle down with. That’s kind of…the point?? #BachelorAu

It’s been a long-ass eight weeks to endure to have zero payoff or remnants of a happy ending, so viewers are pretty damn pissed with Nick’s decision.
On the flip side, it was a deeply personal choice he had to make and no one can force feelings. It’s very possible that none of the 25 girls were for him.
Some people are defending the Bachy’s choice as a brave move to prevent future heartbreak.
Give the guy a break! He didn’t like them. He was likely contractually obliged to continue until the end. At least he didn’t pick one and then break up with her as soon as the cameras turned off. #TheBachelorAU

#TheBachelorAU So everyone is cranky because he is being honest. He could have played the media circus, but instead made the hard and right decision for him. Respect.

People all over the country surprised at the definition of the word 'bachelor' #BachelorAU

bit annoying that he didn't end up with anyone, but he made the right decision in the end. there's no point in choosing a girl and making it all seem glamorous when they're just gonna fizzle out in a few months' time. #TheBachelorAU

However, the majority are calling out Nick for leading on these poor women when it seems he is not ready to settle down.
Sooo . Nick’s a fuckboy who told everyone he was ready to not be a fuckboy anymore but ended up being a fuckboy? #TheBachelorAU

Tbh, this whole saga feels a lot like dating IRL.
Nick is every straight guy on a dating app who isn’t ready to be dating but does it anyway at women’s expense #TheBachelorAU

Both women deserve so much better. Tbh, this has probably been the most realistic bachelor season. An accurate representation of being messed around when dating#TheBachelorAU
