Got a text! Reality TV Christmas is about to kick off: Love Island UK is set to premiere this week. My body is so damn ready.

Fans of the UK version of Love Island will know that the long-running series is the pinnacle of reality television. While Australia might have its own local adaption, it doesn’t hold a candle to the show that started it all. Between the banter, the drama, the bellends, the mugs, and the ‘fit’ contestants, there is simply nothing like Love Island UK.

And luckily for us Aussies, we can watch along with the rest of the UK, with episodes fast-tracked to the 9Now app. Season 8 will be available to watch in Australia from 8 June, with new episodes dropping daily. That’s a’right, innit?

This is the same series that brought us the mayhem that is Casa Amor, the love story of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, the birth of icon Maura Higgins, and who can forget ‘Hurricane Faye’ from last year’s season. I know I won’t any time soon.

Last year’s season crowned Millie Court and Liam Reardon the winners, despite Liam cheating on Millie during Casa Amor, so who says that reality stars can’t be forgiven, or learn from their ways.

After seven seasons of truly unforgettable moments and reality TV milestones, the new season already looks set to stir up even more drama. Before the premiere even dropped, a woman on Twitter named Carol McGee claimed that one of the contestants stole her daughter’s handbag. The Bristol woman reckons that islander, Andrew, swiped the handbag at a Sainsbury’s, a popular department store in the UK.

Stay tuned to see if Andrew turns out to be a handbag thief, and for all the fun in the sun, couple-swapping, and general debauchery, on the upcoming season.

Love Island UK premieres on the 8 June at 6pm on 9Now, with a new episode dropping daily.
