No, it’s not 2008, but the Black Eyed Peas have returned with a new song in 2018 and we’re just as surprised as you are.

The group famous for their tracks ‘My Humps‘, ‘Where Is The Love‘ and the lyrically flawed ‘I Gotta Feeling‘ are back with a woke AF track called ‘Street Livin’.

Sadly the track cannot be certified as ‘Fergalious‘ – with Fergie taking a break from the band to work on a solo project. Despite reports of her leaving completely, Will.i.am has confirmed she’s still on board and will be back for more.

‘Street Livin‘ sees the group focus on a different sound, contrasting their early-naughties chart-topping classics. It centres around stripped back old-school and electronic rap beats below Will.i.am, apl.de.ap, and Taboo spitting socially-conscious rhymes.

The song doesn’t shy away from highlighting intersectional issues that are currently impacting communities of colour. These include themes of police brutality, prison reform and gun reform, as well as immigration.

Beyond the new single, we still don’t know what the band has in store, when a new album might be on the way and when kween Fergie might return. In the meantime, stream ‘Street Livin‘ below:
