With Riverdale returning in a mere four months (yay!), it’s time to marathon the first season in anticipation for its return… but could it have all ended differently?

Apparently: hell yes. In a recent appearance at MCM London, K.J Apa (a.k.a the one and only red-hair heartthrob Archie), revealed that the first season originally concluded differently.

“We actually had a completely different ending while we were shooting,” he said, adding “actually, only me and Luke [Perry] got sent the ending the night before we actually shot that scene.

“Me and Luke sat down, we had a chat about it and we spoke to the writers and kind of just got it done. No one else actually knew about it except us at that time.”

When pressed on what the original ending would have meant for the series, Apa stayed tight-lipped, but did reveal “it had something to do with the Blossoms”.

He also spilled that he always gets asked whether he would choose Betty or Veronica, and he’s too scared to answer as “the internet will explode”. True dat. He went on to chat about his blossoming bromance with Cole Sprouse.

It’s also awesome to hear K.J’s normal accent as he’s a bloody Kiwi and if possible – even more adorbs.
