So, Melinda Straight Up Snubbed Her MAFS Castmates At The Logies…
There’s been plenty of messy drama surrounding this year’s Married at First Sight cast, with rumoured feuds between some of the ladies taking up a whole bunch of our brain space. So, what could go wrong when they were all reunited for the 2023 TV WEEK Logie Awards?
Well, quite a lot.
We heard it straight from Claire Nomarhas and Sandy Jawanda on the red carpet that they had received a very frosty reception from one of their co-stars.
“There hasn’t been any drama as such, but there’s some weird vibes, a bit of tense energy from a couple of the gals,” Claire told Punkee. “Melinda didn’t say hi to us, we’re not really sure why. Maybe we’ll nut it out, see how it goes.”

Sandy added that she “wasn’t surprised” as the pair weren’t close to Melinda during filming. It seems as though Claire’s actions on the show (you know, cheating on Jesse with Adam), crossed a line.
Since the show wrapped up, Melinda has also referenced a “divide” between the cast, and told Punkee that she doesn’t “go out of her way to talk to a fair few people”, and that those cast members (kindly? frostily??) return the favour.
“The ones I’m in contact with are Tahnee, Alyssa, Janelle, Evelyn, Caitlin… every now and again Lyndall [and] Josh,” Melinda told us. “People were worried about different people’s edits… it’s just all a bit weird at the moment.”
On the red carpet, Claire dropped a spicy nugget about her relationship with Melinda on the show. Apparently, Melinda believed Claire was going to get the ‘villain’ edit, so wasn’t sure she should be friends with her.
“I recall Melinda saying to me during the show, ‘Look Claire, I really like you, but because of what you’ve done I think you’re gonna be the villain, so I can’t really associate with you’,” Claire spilled. “We didn’t get to know each other during filming, and it’s the same situation now.”
“I came here to have a good time, but at the end of the day, you can’t make people like you… and I’m OK with that,” she added.
Claire went on to list all the MAFS brides that she’s still close with, saying that she’s tight with Sandy, Evelyn, Tahnee, Janelle, Alyssa and Lyndall.
If we look at who she excluded from that list, we’re left with Melinda, obv, Caitlin (who is besties with Melinda), Tayla and Bronte. Interesting…
