Claire From ‘MAFS’ Has Spilled Piping Hot Tea About Her Reality Star Boyf
Claire Nomarhas didn’t exactly have an easy time on Married at First Sight, courtesy of her rocky relationship with Jesse Burford. Many of Claire’s traits appeared to be on Jesse’s infamous “ick list”, leaving her to declare that he wasn’t “her person” on their honeymoon.
Things went from bad to worse after Claire kissed Adam Seed(y) on a night out, with the cheating scandal putting an end to her relo with Jesse. She became a fan fave though, after owning her behaviour and showing that your past mistakes don’t define you.
Fast forward a few months, and our crystal queen has now hard-launched her new-ish relationship with My Kitchen Rules’ Patrick Calleja. He also happens to be The Block’s Tom Calleja’s brother, so reality TV stardom clearly runs in the family.
Funnily enough, it was actually reality TV that brought the pair back together. They’d dated prior to MAFS, but called it quits when it felt like they couldn’t get it to work.
“[Patrick] found out that I was on MAFS through the media, and he just shot me a message saying, ‘You’ve got this, be yourself, I’m really proud of you.’,” Claire recalls in a chat with Punkee. “I found that so lovely and supportive… we reconnected, and [it] was a nice reminder of how we felt about each other, and sometimes things are worth fighting for.”
The pair rekindled their relationship about halfway through MAFS airing, and they even watched some episodes together, which tbh, was pretty brave of Claire.
“There were some moments that I couldn’t watch myself, I couldn’t watch me not be the best version of me, and he was right there,” she shares. “He’s like, ‘You got this. It’s okay. You’re learning, and you’re growing’, he was so damn supportive, and I’m really, really grateful for that.”
Their relationship has quickly become quite serious, and it helps that they’ve shared some history in the past. And unlike Jesse, Patrick has embraced Claire’s love of crystals and astrology.
“My mum, believe it or not, is a naturopath, so I grew up in a household with all organic food, crystals, [we saged] every house we went into, spirits, astrology cards… I’ve got my own little collection of crystals,” Patrick says. “I’m very open-minded.”
It’s giving growth, it’s giving healing, it’s giving soulmates.
Claire Nomarhas speaks out about the ‘divide’ in the MAFS cast:
Tbh, it seems like every week there’s a new rumour about some beef that’s going down between the former MAFS contestants. Claire is quick to say that she’s not part of any drama that’s going on.
“I’ve got Sandy, I’ve got Lyndall, I’ve got Ev, so there’s a big part of the cast that I do speak to, but I struggle to make time to speak to my own mum and sister. I’m busy, I’m working, I have so much going on,” she explains.
“I don’t need to speak to someone every day for them to know that I love them and care about them and they have a place in my heart.”
She points out that there’s no reason for every single person in the experiment to be “best friends forever” either, and you know what, that makes total sense. “I have no hard feelings to literally anyone. I’m really looking forward to going to The Logies and catching up with a lot of the crew and having a nice night out.”
Claire Nomarhas addresses Jesse Burford and Adam Seed’s attempt to take her down:
After Adam and Jesse shared some messages they claimed came from Claire on social media, we all waited to see how Claire would respond. While she shared an iconic Instagram post of her being an unbothered queen, she didn’t speak out directly against the two.
And apparently, she’s been so loved-up and in her own bubble, Adam and Jesse’s social posts didn’t cross her mind.
“I just wish everyone all the best. I don’t really get too caught up in it and you know, it says more about them than it does about me,” she tells us. “I think there’s a saying about the flies in the honey and the bees in the shit. Something like that.”
Amen, sis. Couldn’t have put it any better myself.
