20K+ Clowns Across Oz Are Planning To Scare People This Weekend After ‘It’ Hysteria
This isn’t a joke: the clowns are coming and they’re coming this weekend. Following the insane success of the remake of It, a series of clowns will be possibly popping up across the east coast of Australia.
The Facebook page Clown Purge Australia – which has over 15k likes – is claiming that they will be sending thousands of clowns across Australia at a unspecified time to scare the hell out of people.
The page posted:
“We have now re-united and have over 20,000 anonymous Clowns over Australia. We will be all over the Easterly Coast from South to North first,” the page posted.
“Be prepared – We do not mean any harm, all of it is just for a scare and some laughs.”
The page plans to literally send in the clowns, and we are beyond terrified.
Facebook page Clown Purge Sydney are already planning to pull a spooky stunt this Saturday, sending clowns to nine different Sydney suburbs.
“After the release of IT, we’re coming back bigger and better,” they wrote.
“On Saturday we will be sending out 10 clowns to all different areas. We’re not here to harm, only here for a laugh and a good time.”

A Melbourne page called 2017 Clown Purge Melbourne has also appeared, claiming to be targeting suburbs. The page only have a handful of likes, so it’s most likely not a legit threat. We have reached out to them for confirmation.

- Rooty Hill
- Penrith
- St Marys
- Emu Plains
Clown Purge Australia have noted that, “within the next week we’ll be going to Brisbane City, Gold Coast, Cairns and Fraser Coast”. The page has also warned that for Halloween they will be sending 50 clown to one selected location. Yikes!
In light of the pages creepy plans, they’ve been receiving hate messages and even death threats.
