7 Things we learned from Kim Kardashian’s beauty routines
No matter whether your thoughts on Kim Kardashian are that she’s a vapid attention seeker or a goddess sent from above to tame Yeezy, we can all agree her hair and make-up looks flawless in every situation.
Into The Gloss asked her to share her beauty routines and products (they total almost $2,000 in total, but like, her face is her job so whatever), and she handed down some super practical regimens pretty much anyone could employ without the pricetag. Incidentally we also learned some interesting facts about Kim Kardashian-West in the process.
Let us share this new found knowledge with you.
1. Kim mixes it up when it comes to products
“I just love to take care of my skin. I’m always researching different products, and I always try so many different things. I don’t just stick to one face wash or moisturizer.”
This goes for sunscreen too. Kimmy might be tanned but she uses two kinds of sunscreen for her face.
2. She has a super easy two-stage make-up removal routine
Kim uses face wipes followed by a cleansing gel. “I used to just go on a flight, fall asleep in my makeup, and not care. Now I really wash it off…”
3. Rose is her scent of choice
“I actually love that scent for everything. My fragrance right now is rose, and all of the scents in our Kardashian Beauty and Kardashian Beauty Hair lines are rose.”
4. Kim has psoriasis for which she uses at-home LED light therapy
“I used to have it so bad on the back of my legs. I had a lingerie photoshoot once, and it was just covering my legs. I have the behind-the-scenes pictures, and it’s pretty crazy. Now I just have two patches that won’t seem to go away, but the rest have gone away ever since I had the baby.”
5. She’s been using the same foundation since she was 14
“I love… Joe Blasco Ultrabase Foundation—it’s a really old school, heavy foundation. My dad got me makeup classes for Christmas when I was like 14 at some Joe Blasco makeup school, and I’ve worn that foundation ever since.”
6. Her make-up look changes from make-up artist to make-up artist
“Mario [Dedivanovic] makes me look the most ethnic. Joyce Bonelli makes me look the most glam. This one makeup artist, Rob Scheppy, makes me feel in-between glam and myself. He does me really tan—I can’t explain it. [Laughs] Everyone has a style, and I like the different vibes.”
7. She washes her hair every five days
It follows a neat routine: “We start out with a blowout on day one, then we go into a messier vibe the next day, and then we flat iron it and do a really sleek look on day three since that requires a little oil in the hair. Day four could be a slicked-back ponytail, and on the fifth day is when you wash it.”
