An optimistic German condom company has been screwed over by a court’s decision to reject their advertising claims.

The company failed to defended its optimistic pitch that a box of seven condoms contains “up to 21 orgasms”. According to the brand, that’s one for the man and two for the women with each use.

Despite arguing their case in the Regional Court of Dusseldorf following complaints made by their competitors, the judge didn’t look favourably on their packaging. The court felt the brand were either taking the piss out of the seriousness of contraception messaging or had very little understanding of their users competency.

According to the judge, their brand messaging was deemed “deceptive” and could lead to randy customers irresponsibly using the same condoms multiple times.

The lawyers for the Berlin condom producers argued that the statement was satirical and playful but it didn’t get them over the line.
