A fire has broken out on Sydney road in Brunswick Melbourne today, stopping traffic and causing chaos. The fire broke out this morning in an abandoned warehouse, causing concern for Brunswick locals.

At 9:20am, the MFB issued a report to warn locals of the fire and that Sydney road would be closed for a prolonged period of time. They have also stated that there is no threat to the community  and that surrounding streets will also be effected.

50+ firefighters were on the scene to evacuate residents of a nearby residential building, suggesting the fire has caused significant damage and delays in the area. At this stage there are no reported injuries.

The blaze is now under control and fire crews will remain on site for the rest of the day. People are advised to avoid the area until another update is released.
