Abbie Chatfield And Kyle Sandilands Are No Longer Beefing, Okay!
Radio hosts Abbie Chatfield and Kyle Sandilands are finally friends again after being involved in (possibly) the world’s shortest beef.
To give you a quick rundown on the whole Abbie-Kyle saga that has been happening: it all started off with an interview in The Daily Telegraph where the Hot Nights host said that she was “baffled” by how Kyle hasn’t been cancelled or reprimanded for using ableist slurs on-air.
“I have no idea [how Sandilands hasn’t been cancelled]…I don’t know why he’s not at least being reprimanded. I don’t know why advertisers still align,” Abbie said. “I don’t know how he can continue.”
After Abbie’s quotes about Kyle started circulating, Abbie attempted to clarify her statements in a series of Instagram Stories. She said she was merely ‘answering the question’ the journalists asked her.
“I didn’t mean that as an aggressive rant, I meant what I said but I wasn’t like trying to take down Kyle,” she said.
“Now I’m just waiting for what he’s gonna say because he does not hold back and it’ll be interesting to see what the reaction to that is… I just basically don’t want the stress of that reaction but that’s what happens when you answer questions about Kyle Sandilands.”

Kyle has since responded to Abbie on his radio show, The Kyle and Jackie O Show. In a surprise twist, Kyle and Jackie O defended The Masked Singer judge, calling out the original article for using Abbie “as a pawn.”
“I feel sorry for Abbie a bit, because she’s had sleepless nights since she’s read these articles and she would have thought, ‘S**t, I’m not fighting with Kyle. They tricked me’,” Kyle said. “We’ve had her on this show. She’s a nice kid.”
The brekky host spoke highly of The Bachelor star, saying that “Out of the handful of broadcasters in this country that I actually respect — and there’s not that many — I think for a newbie she’s doing very well.”

As the radio hosts played Abbie’s Instagram Stories on-air, they also realised she might’ve been scared of Kyle’s reaction because they would be meeting up soon for the Australian Commercial Radio Awards.
Abbie joked about how she wasn’t good enough to be nominated for an award and told Kyle to “use it against her” for when she gets roasted. “So Kyle, use that against me. I’m not nominated. I’m sh*t at radio, use that,” she said.
Kyle closed his message to The Bachelor star with some kind words. “I think you should’ve been nominated [for the Australian Commercial Radio Awards] and I don’t think you’re shit at radio. So how’s that?”
How wholesome!
