Abbie Chatfield is booked and busy. She’s the host of FBoy Island, on the guessing panel for The Masked Singer, hosts the It’s A Lot podcast, has her own radio show, fashion line, plus regular collabs with brands.

Tbh, I’m exhausted just writing that, and I have no idea how she’s managed to juggle five billion jobs and commitments. Turns out, Abbie hasn’t been coping so well and has checked herself into a medical and health retreat in Thailand for some well-deserved R&R.

She shared a lengthy message on her podcast, explaining why she wasn’t going to release a normal episode of It’s A Lot this week.

“I guess this is the episode – a personal update,” she told fans. “I came to this retreat because I’ve been absolutely depleted and burnt out by the start of this year for a number of reasons.”

“But I’ve been here for about five days and I think I’ve realised that my priorities need to shift a bit, to be honest, I’ve taken on so many jobs and so many roles.”

She added that she’s figuring out what she wants to do going forward, and said she’s realised that she’s a workaholic.

“These five days here have been incredibly difficult, which is bizarre because all I’ve done is sit around and get massages and swim and it’s not been difficult obviously for that reason,” she admitted. “Mentally, I think I have a genuine addiction to work.”

Abbie shot to fame when she appeared on The Bachelor, and has continued to build her brand and media presence ever since. While she’s a savvy businesswoman, her ambition has taken a toll on her personal life.

“Honestly, all I’ve done is work for the past couple of years. I have almost no social life anymore… my normal is working so much and not socialising. And that has led to a kind of social anxiety being formed and anxiousness around meeting new people,” she said.

It sounds like she really needed a break, so hopefully Abbie comes back feeling refreshed and rested.
