This is why we can’t have nice things.

Adam Sandler‘s The Ridiculous 6 is officially Netflix’s most watched movie of all time, achieving the insane feat within 30-days of its release.

Premiering on Netflix on 11 December last year, The Ridiculous 6 is a western spoof of films like Magnificent Seven and features “stars” including Sandler, Rob Schneider, Taylor Lautner and Luke Wilson. Chief Content Officer at Netflix Ted Sarandos said:

The Ridiculous Six, by way of example, in the first 30 days on Netflix it’s been the most-watched movie in the history of Netflix. It’s also enjoyed a spot at #1 in every territory we operate in, and in many of them it’s still #1.”

This is the same movie that became notorious after Native American actors walked off the movie’s set after reading the script, which was riddled with racist jokes and ethnically offensive antics. A film that includes scenes of every stereotype under the sun, donkey fellatio and has been universally canned by viewers and critics alike.

Here’s the Netflix trailer:

Here’s are some of the *glowing* reviews:

Deborah Day in The Wrap said:

The Ridiculous 6 is everything wrong with Hollywood for the past two decades: a circle-jerk of imbecilic white-dude humor. That the coterie of guys responsible for “Click,” “Blended,” “The Waterboy” and their like continue making these films is a travesty,” said Deborah Day in The Wrap

Followed by Nick De Semlyen at Empire:

“Female Apache characters are called Smoking Fox, Never Wears Bra and, um, Beaver Breath. The pun “Poca-hot-tits” is deployed. There are wince-inducing jokes about peace pipes and wigwams, while Sandler, who spends the first stretch of the film dressed up as an “Injun” himself, is imbued with magical powers he’s learned from the tribe. But other ethnicities won’t feel left out — Rob Schneider plays a stupid Mexican whose best friend is a diarrhea-spraying donkey,”said

…And according to Nick Schager at The Playlist:

“Humor is murdered over the course of 119 deathly minutes by Adam Sandler in The Ridiculous 6, a Western spoof that, like its protagonist’s feats of magical heroism, is best described as “some mystical shit,”‘said

The film was heavily promoted on the streaming service, with Netflix making it impossible to escape ads for the movie and god forbid- it looks like their marketing campaign worked wonders.

Good news: Many believe viewers were only drawn to the flick as a kinda “soo bad it’s good” cult phenomenon.

Bad news: This is only the first movie out of a four-movie deal between Netflix and Sandler.

Hold on, guys. It’s gonna get rough.
