Ali Won’t Confirm Or Deny Whether She’s Found Love On ‘The Bachelorette’
Here we go again.
Tonight we’re going to see Ali Oetjen continue her search for love after previously trying on The Bachelor and Bachelor In Paradise.
Ali’s journey has been a dramatic one: From falling head over heels for Tim Robards in Season 1 of The Bachelor and making it to the top three, before returning to our screens this year and finding a short-lived love with Grant Kemp.
After a messy split, Ali is ready to take the reigns and have control — but she’s keeping quiet on whether she’s found love yet.
(I know, I know, the last person to keep secret on whether they had found love was Nick bloody Cummins and we all saw how that turned out.)
Punkee chatted to Ali ahead of the premiere tonight.
On choosing a reality show (again) to find love:
“I definitely had to think about it, but at the same time The Bachelorette is where the woman is in control and I can learn from my mistakes. I’ve obviously always gone after the wrong kind of guy but it’s also a great opportunity for me to date a whole lot of guys, compare them all, and not just fall in love with the first one I have a connection with.”
On the upcoming season & the men vying for her heart:
“I think everyone was different, most of the guys on there were good, genuine, kind-hearted guys and I really mean that. They were lovely. There’s a lot of alphas on the show, the guys are fit and healthy and they were standing up for themselves, and they were all really there for me I felt. There is going to be competitiveness, there is going to be some altercations.”
On the controversy surrounding the diversity of the cast:
“There’s Croatian, there’s Greek, there’s Italian… there’s a good mix in there. There’s huge diversity.”
On whether she’s fallen in love:
“Everyone wants to find out the answer before they even watch it! But they’ll have to wait until the very end to see exactly what happens. But I am very happy, I can tell you that.”
On what we can expect from her season:
“It’s emotional, I wear my heart on my sleeve and I’m very upfront with what I feel. I think with every situation that came up, I said what I thought and didn’t hold back at all. So the guys will know exactly what I’m thinking.”
And on that whole Grant mess:
“It’s been something that I’ve had to keep on telling myself ‘stay true, remember who you are’. I think if I was to tell my side of the story it’d just be lowering myself to what he’s doing right now and I’m not willing to respond or retaliate hate with hate. My side of the story wouldn’t be nice either.”
