Tonight’s episode of The Bachelor will have Locky go on a group date with the ladies, and they’ll be joined by psychic Alison Maiden who’s going to dish up some love advice and compatibility tests for the lucky chosen ones.

With 38 years experience in giving guidance to Hollywood celebs, everyday people like you and me, and even helping the police crack cold cases, Alison’s going to use numerology to calculate Locky’s compatibility with the ladies on the group date. She’ll also be using her psychic abilities to give insight into what they need to work on in order to make their relationship with Locky work.

So no, before we get into it, Alison isn’t going to tell us point-blank who wins The Bachelor. Where’s the fun in that? But we did ask her about what it was like filming with Locky and the girls, what life is really like as a psychic, and you better believe we tuned into her ability to read people over the phone.

Here’s what Alison Maiden said about filming The Bachelor and what it’s like to receive messages from the other side.

On Locky and the girls from The Bachelor:

“Locky was an absolute delight, he is a warm and beautiful person so I really enjoyed being there. There are some great girls in there! There are definitely some big personalities, but just in general, they were all very open to what I was saying.

You’re always going to get vibes that (some girls aren’t there for the right reasons) but I only had a small group when I filmed. I did feel there were a couple there that had some very strong connections with him that could be relationship material. As you’ll see tonight in the episode, we go through their compatibilities and some of them will really shine out.”

On what the relationship compatibility test tells her about a couple or whether she gets vibes when a couple should breakup:

“When I do the compatibility between two people, we always look at the positive and negative. And people will go between the two. Some people though are really stuck in the negative and they’re the people who struggle holding onto relationships because they’re always going back into negative patterns. So I try to bring it to their attention, saying this is a problem within your relationship and your partner isn’t going to put up with that kind of behaviour so you’ve actually got the ability to change that. I think by giving people the heads up on what the strengths and weaknesses are, it’s their decision if they want to work on it from there.”

On whether Covid-19 has more people flocking to her for reassurance about the pandemic:

“To be honest I’m no busier than I normally am. I thought there’d be a lot more people seeking reassurance, but people’s questions are pretty much the same. I think people know this won’t last forever, there’ll be a breakthrough, and we’ll go back to a normal – or at least a new normal, because things won’t go back to the way it was before. People are having a chance to slow down, and look at their lives, and what they want to get out of it. That’s a positive thing that’s come out of everything happening.”

On how hard it is to switch off as a psychic:

“I do try and switch off when I’m on my downtime, however if a message comes through, it comes through for a reason so I never ignore that. I’d never approach someone in the street or go up to a stranger, that’s unethical. If someone comes to me, I’m fine with that. But if I’m getting a strong message for someone then I try to pop it to the side of my brain. It can be exhausting.”

On the best and worst parts about being a psychic:

“The love stuff is easy because it’s fun and uplifting most of the time, and you can help people with that because most people are looking for love on some level.

When I counsel people who have been grieving, their passed love ones coming through, you’ll see some of that in the show actually, that can be more taxing. And when I’m helping with cold cases that’s the worst, because it’s people who have had traumatic passing and I do feel everything. And I do feel everything, part of my psychic abilities is I actually feel physical pain that they passed with, so that can be hard.

Obviously the rewarding part is being able to help people and helping them know that love never dies and people will love you on this earth and on the other side.”

And the ultimate test – could Alison read me after a brief 10-minute phone interview?

Alison: “You’re a very intuitive girl yourself. You’re also extremely compassionate, you bring in people who need a lot of help, you end up with a lot of… I call them the ‘needy’ people. You have a few needy people around you, they’ll always come to you for advice. I think secretly you’d love to be more adventurous and travel more, and take your work overseas and I really feel like you will get the opportunity to do that and I’m getting the feeling of London and Europe. I can definitely see you working on a book, so it’s like you’ll be doing a lot more, you’ll put a lot of your experiences into a book and it’ll be funny, it’ll actually be really uplifting and funny for people to read. So you’ve got some wonderful opportunities coming your way in the next three years. Also the letter J… it’s really strong with you. Someone with the initial J is so strong to you. Who is that?

Me: “I seem to date people with J names, my last ex was J name, so I really hope that’s not it.”

Alison: “That’s so funny. There actually is someone who’s a soulmate. You know that in the back of your mind. You’re drawn to these guys with J, but he’s not quite there yet. I’m being shown Fox Studios in Sydney and I feel like he might have a lot to do with the film industry or the radio industry. He’s tall, he’s thin, but don’t let that put you off, he’s one of those who can eat anything but can’t keep weight on, I hate those people. The whole thing about him is that he’s really centred, he’s coming, he’s in your future, you just have to wait!”

Well, mysterious J, if you’re reading this, call me.
