Alyssa From ‘MAFS’ Has Jumped To The Defence Of Fellow Villian Olivia

As we’re all aware by now, Married at First Sight is over for the year but the drama and hot goss won’t stop for a while.

As the stars of this season slowly get access to their social media back and start hanging out with each other IRL (as well as former cast members), the good ol’ defence of blaming the show’s edit excuse is standing strong with those looking to clear their name for how they were portrayed.

Alyssa Barmonde was a surprise villain on this season of MAFS, after her marriage to Duncan James crumbled. Her emotional reactions and phrases towards Duncan such as “I have a child” and “Pay attention to me!” got fans offside throughout the experiment and Alyssa recently divulged to the Daily Telegraph she was recently and “coincidentally” made redundant from her job.

And we all remember last year’s other surprise villain, Olivia Frazer. Olivia and Jackson initially won us all over with what seemed like a super solid marriage, before Olivia’s involvement in drama with Domenica Calarco (including leaking her OnlyFans images to the wider cast) turned fans against her.

Recently Olivia sat down with other reality stars Al Perkins (MAFS, Love Island) and Taku Chimwaza (Love Island) to discuss her time as a reality star, opening up about how some women followed her home one night and yelled abuse at her.

“[They] were screaming things like, ‘Olivia, you’re a c*nt, die pig’, all these awful, awful things,” Olivia said.

Married at First Sight fans were quick to comment on the video, dropping old infamous lines that Olivia said on her time during MAFS like, “As far as empathy, I just don’t have it in me..” and saying Olivia was just trying to control the narrative after taking no responsibility for her past actions.

“This is just another attempt at trying to control the narrative. It all boils down to the fact that she just doesn’t take any responsibility for her actions in relation to the image based abuse,” one user commented.

Enter Alyssa Barmonde.

As So Dramatic! reported, in what appears to be a now deleted comment, Alyssa jumped to the defence of Olivia, calling MAFS out for twisting and manipulating storylines.

“I love everyone in the comment section thinking they know how reality TV producing and editing works,” Alyssa said. “REALITY TV IS NOT REALITY. She’s not blaming the edit. She is trying to explain how things can be misconstrued. You don’t have to like her, but at least respect her.”

The comments section then turned into a full-blown argument, with people jumping on to reply to Alyssa. “I have no doubt that situations can be manipulated…but [producers] can’t make words come out of your mouth that you didn’t say,” a user responded. “It’s difficult to respect someone who’s blatantly malicious.”

Alyssa was quick to clap back, saying, “Why do you have the right to comment on what you’ve seen on TV and think you actually know her? Why spread hate?”

Other fans then called Alyssa out, with one commenting, “Babe, are you off your head? Yes, we are all aware that MAFS edits the show BUT maybe you should go rewatch Olivia’s time on MAFS, you can clear as day see some of the horrific stuff she said that WASN’T edited.”

Bloody hell. Maybe we all just need to go have a cup of tea and a nice lie down.
