The American Bachelorette Who Quit The Show After 12 Days Just Got Engaged
Last week we reported that Clare Crawley, the 16th American Bachelorette, was rumoured to have quit the show after just 12 days of filming because she found the one. And now, we’re happy to say that all of those reports were, in fact, true as footage has officially gone to air in the US.
Let’s take you through her whole journey because — given we only have to summarise four episodes — it’s not going to take too long.
Clare’s Journey In Four Episodes of The American Bachelorette:
Clare and Dale’s First Meeting
Last week we told you about the incredible moment when Clare and Dale first met out the front of the mansion. After a truly beautiful introduction, Clare muttered to herself, “I knew it. I definitely feel like I just met my husband. Oh my god, I’m shaking,” which even shocked the American Osher.
Now, we should note that Clare has admitted to stalking Dale on social media beforehand, but, in all honesty, who hasn’t done that before meeting someone for the first time? In our opinion, this still counts as love at first sight.
Clare Gives Dale The First Impression Rose
I mean, of course this was going to happen. It’s actually a very cute interaction because both of them seem extremely flustered and the rest of the suitors are vocally jealous. “To know that I’m going to spend more time with Clare, that’s huge,” Dale utters in his confessional, but little does he know what’s coming next.
Clare Realises That Most Of The Other Suitors Are Trash
Clare is someone who knows exactly what she wants, and what she wants is someone to go above and beyond for her. Evidently, quite a few men in the American Bachelorette mansion that are not that kind of man.
There is an extremely awkward moment in the show where Clare is just sitting amongst all the suitors and no one “steps up to the plate” to whisk her away for a one-on-one chat. It’s shockingly cringe and if I was Clare, I would be very annoyed too.
Also, in another moment, Clare confronts Yosef (one of the irrelevant suitors) about how he was DMing another girl just before the show started, “Guys, can I interrupt you for one second, I feel like, there is still a lot of men here who I haven’t spoken with…” Clare says as she leaves the interaction, finally having enough of his bullshit. Spoken like a true pro.
Side note: Yosef turns out to be a misogynistic dick to Clare and she kicks him right on out of the mansion!
Clare Sneaks Off With Dale Because The Group Date Was Shit
Like, is this not a huge mood? Good for her! We absolutely stan a queen who knows what she wants and goes for it, no matter what the “protocols” are. “Why are you so perfect?” Clare utters in a very intimate moment between the two of them.
Clare and Dale manage to escape the group date for an entire hour, leaving all the dude-bros to wonder where they went. It’s honestly such a hilarious moment when Dale comes back so incredibly proud of himself and all the other suitors are far from impressed.
Dale Gets Dragged By The Other Suitors At A Roast!
It’s this moment in the series that Clare realises she’s not being subtle at all when she sneaks off with Dale. As a result of his clear frontrunner position, Dale absolutely cops it from the other suitors in the roasting challenge. And, as you can expect, Clare gets super awkward about it.
Clare & Dale Confess Their Love For Each Other
After spilling all of her feelings to DeAnna (The American Bachelorette, Season 4) at a girls day, Clare ends up telling Dale that she really, really likes him. And on a very romantic date, Dale confesses that he’s feeling the same way. Well, he actually says that he’s falling in love with her. It’s beautiful: She’s happy. He’s happy. It’s like they’re the only two people in the world. Literally.
Dale Proposes To Clare
And then it happened! Presumably, the producers had no idea how Clare could’ve faked chemistry with the other suitors for the rest of the season, so we’ve reached the end just four episodes in. The moment we’ve all been waiting for happens. In a very romantic setting, Clare rocks up with one red rose and Dale rocks up with one expensive-looking engagement ring! Congrats to both of them, it’s what they deserve.
Clare & Dale Are Living Happily Ever After
In a DIY update-from-home, Clare and Dale update their fans to let them know they are thriving in COVID-19 quarantine together. We absolutely love to see it. “Can you even believe you guys, I’m engaged… Every tear that has been cried, every ounce of it, has been worth it. To have this ending for me. I’m a woman that’s found the man of my dreams because I didn’t give up.”
Excuse us while we tune into the American Bachelorette for the rest of the season because a new Bachelorette has walked in. Let’s hope she also quits really quickly!
