This US Reality Star Got Caught Photoshopping Herself On Vacay And We’re Low-Key Impressed
US singer and reality star, Aubrey O’Day, has been spectacularly called out for consistently photoshopping herself into exotic locations around the world.
If that name doesn’t ring any bells, Aubrey has appeared on reality shows like Ex on the Beach and Celebrity Big Brother, after first rising to fame as a member of girl group Danity Kane. If you’ve seen her Instagram, you’ll know Aubrey is no stranger to using heavy filters and altering her images, but her latest Instagram activity might be a step too far.
TikTok user Sophie (@residualdata) posts regularly on the platform about harmful body image depictions. In a since-deleted TikTok, she called out Aubrey for repeatedly photoshopping herself into other people’s holiday images.

It would be one thing to doctor images by adding yourself into an exotic destination, but Aubrey also geotags the pics with the destination, suggesting she is on holiday there.
Her posts are just bonkers.
WHAT IS HAPPENING.
Am I in a fever dream?
This is so bad, it’s funny.
I have no more words.
After Sophie’s TikTok got picked up online, Aubrey posted somewhat of an explanation on her Instagram, alongside a photoshopped image of herself wearing a g-string and hugging Jesus. Yes, I just typed that sentence.
She wrote some rather unhinged things directed at Sophie before addressing her critics who reckon she’s trying to pretend she’s travelling the world. “Not that I need to explain myself, but I’ve been in this industry for over 20 years and have been traveling the world since I was 7,” she began.
“If I want my Instagram to be curated like a museum of ART then that’s what the f*ck is going to happen. I’m an artist, a REAL creator.”

My favourite part is when she addressed the TikTok user as “lil tok girl,” writing, “I am so sorry to your place of work that allows you to sit on my page all day with binoculars.”
Aubrey seemingly admitted that the photos weren’t legit, but didn’t acknowledge that it was weird that she didn’t tell her followers that her images were created on a computer, rather than captured IRL. “I don’t need to be flown places,” she wrote. “Let alone the fact that a lot of the shots I give y’all are in places you have to spend hours scaling mountains to get to.”
In Aubrey’s defence, no one would come to her account expecting any type of candid or realistic depiction of the reality star. Her entire grid could be summed up in one sentence: graphic design is my passion.
She loves to alter/filter/cut/copy her Instagram images — that’s basically her brand. “Respect my aesthetic, I work hard to give y’all beautiful content that feels the way the places I travel vibrate,” the singer concluded.
In an age where women are criticised for basically anything and everything, I low-key love how shameless she is about her bonkers Instagram grid. It’s much better than the influencers who make subtle changes to their faces and bodies, leaving their followers with unrealistic beauty standards.
Aubrey’s photos are the polar opposite of natural and if that makes her happy, go for your damn life.
