The only thing better than the fact that this 16-year-old kid from the Shire caught a giant Bull shark while night fishing is his mate’s reaction to it.

So there were rumours circulating that a big ass shark was lurking in the waters around popular swimming spot Port Hacking. Most people would just take that as a heads up to…maybe not go there. Not so much for Kai George who reacted to the shark warning like a truly legendary, unapologetically Aussie teen bloke.

George and his crew went out to Port Hacking in the middle of the night to try and find the shark, because why the fuck not hey? He told Sunrise this morning:

“We thought, what have we got to lose, we’re just a bunch of teenagers looking for a big shark.”

And you know what, they found the sucker. The boys were fishing and to their surprise, actually caught the 3.28-metre bull shark. They took some pics for proof, played with the big guy for a while then set it free because that’s the right thing to do.

The video of them catching the shark is literally the most young Aussie bloke thing I’ve seen in a while. There’s a lot of “F***” and this guy is casually shirtless and the whole production is perfect.

Pics or it didn’t happen? Thank god for camera phones:

Apparently, some locals weren’t stoked that the boys let the shark go but the (superiorly wise) 16-year-old said:

“They’re beautiful creatures and they deserve to be in the ocean.”

Nice one boys.

“Everyone’s saying that because they swim in the river and cause their kids are swimming here and it’s a very very popular swimming and wakeboarding spot.” “They’re not too keen on it anymore.”

I guess sometimes you’ve just gotta catch a shark for the thrill of it amirite haha #straya.
